It’s that time of the year where we celebrate our love for characters of color in romantic fiction in the Color of Love Blog Hop. When people ask me why I write Interracial Romance, it's sometimes hard for me to answer. I don't look at IR as a 'thing'. Yes, I do understand the nuances of our society where everything that is a somehow considered 'different' or not 'mainstream' are given labels to highlight the variances. The color of my lover's skin was different. Our cultures may have been different, but the feelings of love and passion were not. As a Jamaican American, my culture is always going to be 'different' than my lover if he is not Jamaican, even if we share the same race or luxuriant skin tones. So I write IR because if these relationships are considered such a taboo, then I want the world to see that IR love is just as beautiful and all-encompassing as any other love. If you are new to Interracial Romance, I hope you take a tour of the hop, and see what IR means to these other terrific authors. '); Enter the Color of Love Giveaway!
